Commercial Pilot License

The Commercial Pilot License, as the name suggests, allows one to fly a professional aircraft. Also offered by the Civil Aviation Authority in India, the license has more requirements as compared to the PPL. The CPL requires an applicant to sit through six different written exams, while also obtaining 200 flying hours.

Qualifications

To qualify to apply for the acquiring a CPL, you need to have the following:

  1. A Class 10th or equivalent examination pass-out certificate form a recognized board or university
  2. 17 years of age at the time of enrollment
  3. A valid Indian Class II medical certificate

Course Structure

To qualify to apply for the acquiring a PPL, you need to have the following:

  1. Flying training for 50 hours
  2. Theory classes for:
    • Air Regulations
    • Air Navigation
    • Aviation Meteorology
    • General technical details of aircrafts
    • Specific technical details of aircraft on which the training would be imparted
